Independent Coordination of Supports:

We now have multiple positions for people who are or want to be Independent Support Coordinators to join our supportive, fun, diverse and dynamic team.


This is an exciting opportunity for you to operate your own independent support coordination business under the Embracing Diversity umbrella.
Mentoring, guidance and supports are there whenever you need it. You choose the hours and days you wish to work.

About Embracing Diversity:

We are experts of the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) and understand what supports and systems need to be in place for Independent Support Coordinators to operate successfully and deliver person-centred support coordination that is customised to each individual consumer’s needs and goals.

About You:

  • You have previous experience as a support coordinator, specialist support coordinator, psychosocial recovery coach, local area coordinator or at least 4 years’ experience working with people with disability
  • You have a minimum certificate III in a relevant industry discipline
  • You have a current police check
  • You have a current NDIS workers screening check
  • You have a current Australian driver’s licence 
  • Dependent on the role, the appropriate Working with Children check and/or Working with Vulnerable People check as per State/Territory legislation may also be required
  • High work ethic, reliable, professional and resilient 
  • You are willing to get an ABN and professional insurances
  • Good understanding of technology, using client management systems and Microsoft products
  • Exceptional attention to detail, highly organised with time management skills and the ability to multitask at times
  • Highly developed and proven customer service skills and ability to think outside the box, including experience in following correct procedures when dealing with challenging situations and vulnerable people
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills; the ability to present high level reports; the ability to adapt communication style to meet people’s needs
  • Knowledge of NDIS and the NDIS Practice Standards 
  • A curious nature with a willingness to learn 
  • A passion to embrace and apply Embracing Diversity’s values and ethics to foster a culture of positive support, consumer empowerment, honesty, accountability, inclusion, respect and empathy.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Implement participants plans, identify and coordinate various service providers and supports that meets the participants needs, allowing choice and control
  • Assist participants to communicate with the NDIA when required to support their own plan requirements
  • Develop strong and collaborative working relationships with multiple services and service sectors, to link and connect the participant to achieve positive support outcomes
  • Provide professional and efficient customer service to the stakeholders, their staff, clients and the community
  • Ability to assist families, participants and other stakeholders to address their needs and expectations
  • Work closely with NDIS planners and LACs to ensure your participants achieves the required / desired outcomes from their plans
  • Provide to the NDIS timely and relevant progress and end of plan reports, reflecting progress towards achieving plan goals
